If you want to
design-as-you-go, there are
two ways to do it.
Buy several needles and fill
each with one color, like
working with colored pencils.
Or change colors as you fill
the hook: 4 folds of olive &cut,
2 folds of aqua &cut; and
so on.

"The Art of Shirret $25
by Louise McCrady is the
"bible" of Shirret. It has
patterns for every round,
oval, rectangle, patchwork
and square shape rug you
can imagine, and instructions
for designing every pictorial
and geometric design you
can devise. It has every basic
instruction you need, in both
written and visual forms, for
every learning style."
