ShiRRéT wildflower brooch easy to make.ShiRRéT Beginner Pansy Brooch $17

HOW 2 Your first Shirret Rug. It's not complicated, - watch free video - it's two basic crochet stitches with a special cutting gauge and ShiRReT hook

1 - the needle bastes through fabric like a tapestry needle to ShiRR,
2 - the hook stitches with cord to croch éT .

Fold squares of fabric and cut layers of strips, fast.

Pull a bit of fabric from the needle onto the cord stitch. After the first three rows your hands learn the rhythm - muscle memory. The fabric in the stitches fills up space and you are crocheting fast .

It starts 'out of thin air' with a slip loop on the hook just like crochet.

Without the fabric it would be a scarf crocheted in rows or a round circle of double crochet stitches.

But the fabric gathers on the special Shirret hook™ and holds together in the stitches, and the cord is hidden in the middle of the fabric.

When you make your first piece, run it under hot water to Felt It.

BASIC TOOLS ARE $17

ShiRRéT is two handed crochet. If you can add an extra step to your 'tension' hand, you can ShiRRéT.

The left hand is more active than the right hand. The left thumb and middle finger pull the fold of fabric off the needle, while the left pointer finger holds the tension in the cord. The ShiRRéT needle fits inside the right hand, with the wiggle in the needle sitting around the joint of the first knuckle. A left hand needle is available for Left Hand crochéters.

You can LEARN FROM THE VIDEO, a TEACHER , THE ART OF ShiRRéT book , or COOL BEGINNER KITS.
The medium weight wool in the kits is best to learn with.

"Oh, I get it ! A ShiRRéT stitch is a stitch plus a fold of fabric !"
